Is Ropilot safe? An honest answer.
Fair question — you're about to install a desktop app from a company you may have never heard of, on a platform full of "free Robux" scams. Here is exactly what Ropilot is, what it touches, and what it keeps. No hedging.
What Ropilot actually is
Ropilot Studio is a desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux, plus a Roblox Studio plugin it installs for you. You describe a feature; it reads your game, writes the Luau, runs a playtest, and shows you proof the change works. It's built and run by ROSUITE, LLC — a one-person company run by a Roblox developer, not an anonymous asset flipper. You can talk to the person who built it in the Ropilot Discord or at [email protected].
What it accesses — and why
- Your Google account (sign-in only). Ropilot uses Google sign-in; it never sees your password.
- Your prompts and your game's structure and scripts. This is the product working: to write code that fits your game, Ropilot reads your project and sends the relevant context, with your prompt, to AI inference partners. This is required for the service to operate — so don't paste private or sensitive data into chats.
- Payment details — handled by Stripe, not us. Checkout runs on Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe; Ropilot never stores it.
That's it. No keylogging, no scanning files outside your project, no access to your Roblox password or account.
What it keeps, and for how long
Session data — prompts and game structure — is retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days after account termination, unless the law requires longer. Billing records are kept as tax law requires. The full detail, including every third party we use (Cloudflare, Firebase/Google Cloud, Stripe, and AI inference providers), is in the privacy policy — it's short and written to be read.
"macOS says the app is damaged" — what that means
That warning is Apple's default for apps distributed outside the App Store without a paid Apple developer signature — it is not a malware detection. The fix is one Terminal command, shown automatically on the download page:
xattr -cr "/Applications/Ropilot Studio.app"
Can it mess up my game?
Changes happen inside Roblox Studio, where you can see and review them — Ropilot isn't editing your published game behind your back. It also playtests its own changes and reports whether the feature actually worked, which is the whole point of the product. And Roblox Studio keeps version history, so anything can be rolled back.
Money questions, answered plainly
- Free to start: new accounts get free starter credits during onboarding — no card needed, no ChatGPT or Claude subscription required.
- Paid: Ropilot Plus is $15/month (cancel anytime), or one-time credit packs from $5 — no subscription required.
- Refunds: handled case-by-case for unused credits — email [email protected] and a human (the founder) reads it.
Age
Ropilot is not intended for children under 13. If that use is discovered, the account is terminated and data deleted where required.
Still unsure?
Good — skepticism is the right default on this platform. Join the Discord and watch real users build before you install anything, or read the honest comparison against Roblox's own free Assistant, which includes the cases where you shouldn't use Ropilot at all.
